megan and hans wedding

Hans and I used to work together a few years back. At the time, he was also interested in photography and we often talked about cameras and gear and stuff at work. When he and Megan decided to get married, we were so pleased that Hans contacted us to photograph his wedding.

The pair got married at Silvertip Resort. It’s one of the nicer golf courses nestled in Canmore. We got a chance to head into the Canmore townsite to get some pictures near the river before the ceremony at Silvertip. It was sunny and bright out, perfect for an outdoor wedding at the wedding pavilion.

Thanks for having us, guys. We’re so happy for you two and I can’t wait to finish the rest of your images.

tara and karl wedding

Tara and Karl live in Seattle but they decided to get married here at Lake Louise with the family and friends. It was quite a beautiful day with bright sunshine, a remarkable change from the rainy day before. Before the ceremony, the group of us walked around the lake for photos, trying our best to dodge the swarms of tourists. We even sneaked into the old pool house for photos without getting caught!

The ceremony was held on the Victoria Terrace on one wing of the hotel. Karl had practiced memorizing his vows all day to make sure he nails it. In the end, everything was perfect. After the ceremony, everyone was treated to cocktails on the terrace before moving into the Victoria Room for dinner.

Karl and Tara, thanks for a wonderful time!

amber and walter wedding

Amber and Walter were married last week at the Buffalo Mountain Meadow in Banff. When I traveled up from Calgary, the sun was out and the weather was just perfect. As soon as we got there, it started to rain but. Fortunately, we managed to squeeze in some fun shots at an meadow nearby and also at the Banff Springs. In the end the weather cleared up in time for the ceremony and we were greeted with a perfect mountain backdrop for this Banff wedding.

Thanks, Amber and Walter. Have a great time in France.

ewelina and steve engagement

Had a badass session with Ewelina and Steve last week. Here’s a quick installment. The rest to come next week. These images were all taken seconds apart. All I can think of is a wall of these prints 8×12 on Baryta paper and framed up side by side by side by side.

featured on rock ‘n roll bride

This winter, we had the opportunity to photograph two incredible brides with two really out of this world dresses. One was a wedding in Canmore where Kara wore a fully sequined DVF dress. The other was a fun bridal I shot with Kym and Shane near Dallas which involved a Nicole Miller piece.

The pictures from both sessions were featured by the awesomest Kat at Rock ‘N Roll Bride this week. Kat combs the Internet every day to bring us non-traditional wedding ideas. No ZZZZZZZ stuff on her site. If you are interested in seeing an unending stream of fresh wedding inspiration from around the world, check out her site.

Thanks, Kat!

wedding story books

Hands down, the best way to display wedding images is with your own wedding story book. Our bookmaker offers a pretty modern selection of fabrics that can be used to wrap the covers of each book. Fabric options include silk brocades, suedes, leathers and faux fabrics. The hardest part is deciding which fabric to use given there are so many options.

These are our petit wedding story books that we offer in 5×7 or 8×8. They are perfect as parent or guest signing books. I love the orange mock suede fabric.

Silk brocades rock. They have a cool sheen that changes under different lighting.

These are the wedding story books we offer in our Collections. Each book is designed from scratch, inspired by the images and stories from your wedding. They are available in sizes ranging from 8×12 to 10×15. We can get them with fabric accents or photos on the cover. The books open completely flat allowing us to design spreads that span both pages without the annoyance of a gutter.

karlee and jason engagement

Karlee, Jason and I spent a Sunday afternoon exploring the area around High River and Nanton. It’s hard to believe all these years of living in Calgary, I’ve never really wandered into that area before so it was real awesome for me. I even convinced them to jump into this forest of tall weeds for photos. All of us were itching all over after that and I was still picking out thorns days after the session.

Thanks guys for being so damn cool. We had a great time tonight and can’t wait for Saskatoon Farm!

lee and jonathan wedding

I don’t think I’ve seen anyone laugh more than Lee on their wedding day! While she hid in the bedroom of her parent’s house, Jonathan had to endure several challenges and pay out bribes from the bridesmaids before being finally allowed to see her.

As Chinese, it is traditional to have a tea ceremony on the wedding day as a show of respect to elders. Tea was exchanged for red packets and well wishes. After that, we proceeded for some pictures before heading over to the newly renovated Palomino room at the Stampede for the ceremony and reception. Lee’s parents were in the orchid business so we were surrounded by many varieties of this beautiful flower.

Lee and Jon, thanks for having us!
