Weddingbells – 25 Most Inspiring Wedding Photographers of 2012

Like I’ve said on our Facebook page, we were selected to be one of the 25 most inspiring wedding photographers of 2012 by Weddingbells magazine. We are so proud to be mentioned by Weddingbells, which, in my opinion is a critical part of Canada’s wedding institution. I don’t know of any bride that has never seen or bought a copy of their magazine. I want to thank everyone at Weddinbells for this honor! Woo!

However, the real credit goes to all our brides and grooms and their vendors who invested great time and effort on their big day. Without them, there would be no dress, flowers, shoes, table settings, boutonnieres, shoes, stationery, linens, shoes, seat covers, centerpieces, shoes, hair pieces, marriage vows, prime rib, dancing, shoes, invites and other interesting things for us to photograph. It has always been a team effort. Thank you everyone and congratulations to all the other photographers on this list!

travel schedule

We’re going to be traveling a little bit in the next four weeks so the office will be closed. We will try to answer emails and voice mails as best as we can. Print orders will be taken care of once we return.

Here is where we are going to be. If you wish to schedule a session with us in one of these cities or just hang out, fire me off an email!

March 7-11 : Las Vegas
March 29-April 3 : San Francisco bay area
April 5-6 : Seattle
April 7-8 : Vancouver

We still can’t believe Photobolic has been selected by Weddingbells Magazine to be one of 25 Best Photographers in Canada. There is so much talent in Canada and I can think of quite a few other photographers that should have made the list as well.

Furthermore, we can’t take the full credit for this. I think a lot of it should go to each and every one of our brides and grooms and the vendors that have worked together with us at every event. Without their hard work and creativity, there would be no beautiful cakes, flowers, dresses and veils to photograph. Thank you all!

Last month, we had the awesome pleasure to meet Sandi and Andrew and document their marriage on an island near Canmore. They had come all the way from Australia to get married because same-sex marriage has not yet been recognized there. This was the smallest wedding we have ever photographed. So small that Di and I were actually the witnesses and had to sign on Andrew and Sandi’s marriage papers. We were both so happy and proud to be with the two that day. Totally ranked up there in awesomeness.

And on top, we were so pleased and giggly when Kelly Prizel from So You’re EnGAYed contacted me and said they would love to feature their photos on her site. Her site is actually an online community that matches wedding resources that support same-sex couples to help them with their wedding planning process. Kelly is a photographer as well and you can see her work on her site www.kellyprizel.com.

rome – november 1-13

Di and I are visiting Italy with a few other photographer friends from November 1-13. Should be an interesting trip because none of us can speak Italian. LOL! If anybody is in Rome during the same time, fire us an email, we would love to meet you.

While we are gone, we will try to respond to your emails and voicemails as best as we can. We’ll have tonnes of pictures to share when we return, including a few awesome engagement sessions and weddings we shot this month.

This winter, we had the opportunity to photograph two incredible brides with two really out of this world dresses. One was a wedding in Canmore where Kara wore a fully sequined DVF dress. The other was a fun bridal I shot with Kym and Shane near Dallas which involved a Nicole Miller piece.

The pictures from both sessions were featured by the awesomest Kat at Rock ‘N Roll Bride this week. Kat combs the Internet every day to bring us non-traditional wedding ideas. No ZZZZZZZ stuff on her site. If you are interested in seeing an unending stream of fresh wedding inspiration from around the world, check out her site.
